NIMN elects new Council members

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN has announced the winners of the election to fill two Council seats of the Institute.
Announcing the results of the keenly contested election at the Annual General Meeting, AGM of the institute at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Bayou Oke stated that the election which was done electronically had a total number of 1009 accredited voters out of which 450 exercised their voting rights representing 45% of eligible voters.
According to him, Michael Ikupolati who was the sole candidate vying for the position of the First Vice- President garnered 292 votes representing 65% votes cast and emerged winner having fulfilled the constitutional requirements.
Speaking further, the electoral umpire while giving a detailed report of the outcome of the election revealed that for the position of 2nd Vice-President where Mrs. Ebisan Onyema and Dr. Ayoade Adeyemi were the contending candidates, out of the number of votes cast, Dr. Ayoade Adeyemi secured 180 votes representing 42.7% while Mrs. Ebisan Onyema gathered 241 votes representing 57.2% of votes cast.
Mrs. Ebisan Onyema was declared winner having met the stipulated constitutional requirements.
While observing the oath taking and official induction into the governing council, the president of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Mr. Idorenyen Enang expressed confidence in the newly elected to deliver on the mandate for the continued growth and development of the institute.
He said: ” I see the passion, commitment and willingness to serve. Dr. Michael Ikupolati had volunteered to take on projects even before he contested and he is a man of his words. Mrs. Ebisan Onyema has also been a keen supporter at the chapter level and has always been there. So the antecedents speak volume and in a bigger scale and stage such as this, they will bring all to fusion. So I look forward to working with them”.
The president who gave an account of his stewardship for the last one year reeled out plans for the next administrative year and urged members to work assiduously to steer the institute to greater heights.
