In a bid to reposition the marketing profession in line with the latest trends and technological innovations, the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN has introduced an electronic membership management system to automate and drive the operations of the Institute for seamless administration.
According to the marketing body, the e-platform which can be accessed on mobile phones and other smart devices, will enable members to facilitate payment of annual membership subscription, register, make payment and attend events and training programmes of the Institute online as well as have real time chats with fellow members.
Members can also access up-to-date information about the Institute on their portal.
President and Chairman of Council, NIMN, Mr. Idorenyen Enang had during the last town hall meeting which held virtually stated that the new initiative is aimed to automate the activities of the Institute and drive inclusiveness for members.
He said: “For a long time, we have struggled. We have been on manuals. We are not even able to send notes to you to tell you your dues are due. We don’t have a platform to see it through. Last year, we began to look at different opportunities. I had a privilege to sit with several vendors and at the end of the day, we found a solution that meets our current state, where we are and that is being put together by our very distinguished fellows who have worked with several organizations that have done the same. He pitched and was able to match where we are in the interim and help us grow.
“Going forward, it will be very easy for us to manage our membership database and the affairs of the institute either through the web or our phones and this is just the beginning” he added.
Members are required to update their records on the portal which can be accessed on the NIMN website or through a mobile app that can be downloaded from Google play store.
