Nigerian Breweries conducts eco-friendly exercise as it marks 75th anniversary

Nigeria’s leading brewery company, Nigerian Breweries PLC has conducted tree planting exercises across its nine brewery locations in Nigeria as part of activities to celebrate its 75th anniversary and in line with the global mandate to protect and conserve natural ecosystems.
The company announced: “As part of activities to celebrate our 75th anniversary, we conducted tree-planting exercises today across our nine brewery locations in Nigeria.”
Lagos Brewery Manager, Utibe-Abasi Utuk led staff to welcome the NB Chairman, Chief Kola Jamodu who was accompanied by other principal officials of the company when they came for the tree planting exercise according to a post on the brewer’s official LinkedIn page.
The Nigerian Breweries Chairman who was in the company of the MD/CEO, Hans Essaadi and Finance Director, Rob Kleinjan; Company Secretary/Legal Director, Uaboi Agbebaku; Digital & Technology Director, Phil Aneke; Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan and the Supply Chain Director, Martin Kochl, planted the unique Alikaly tree.
The Managing Director, Hans Essaadi while reiterating the company’s support for all initiatives aimed at conserving and sustaining the environment, highlighted the importance of planting trees which is critical to reducing the harmful effects of climate change.
According to Essaadi, Nigerian Breweries Plc had set a 2030 target to plant 600,000 trees to reforest 500 hectares of forest reserves in Ogun State under its Brew a Better World agenda.
Nigerian Breweries Plc was founded in 1946 in response to the world’s call for indigenous Nigerian brewed drinks and for the last 75 years, the company has continued to record milestones in its vision of ‘Refreshing Lives’.
