MTN bags 2020 Nigeria Risk Awards for Covid-19 response
MTN Nigeria has been awarded the most Responsive Organisation to the Covid-19 pandemic crisis in Nigeria. The leading telco got this award at the 2020 Nigeria Risk Awards.
The award is in recognition of the contribution of MTN in the fight against the global pandemic since the first case was discovered in Nigeria in February this year.
Speaking on the award, MTN reiterated its support for the fight against the pandemic. “We are happy to receive the 2020 Risk Award for the Most Responsive Organisation. We remain committed to enriching and empowering Nigerians everywhere in our fight against Covid-19.”
Through its corporate social responsibility arm, MTN Foundation, MTN has made giant strides in fighting the global pandemic through many initiatives. Some of the initiatives include contributing towards Government Relief Funds, the procurement and sourcing of vital Health Care Resources, Food and Water Security through the provision of food packages and water points to meet basic needs, and the Economic Upliftment of SMEs and local market value chains.
The Nigerian Risk Awards recognise and reward organisations and individuals who have achieved measurable results through effective implementation of good governance, internal controls and risk management systems.
