Linda Ikeji unveils plans for mega expansion
Popular Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji, has finally announced plans to expand her media business. According to recent reports from the outfit, the organization is set to expand into four new areas – online radio station, TV station, music website and LIS.
Miss Ikeji made the announcement of her expansion via a recent blogpost, where she stated the desire of her company to employ staff to fill the vacant positions created as a result of the newly created companies. She also posted pictures of her state-of-art offices and studios.
“So aside Linda Ikeji Blog, which you amazing readers have helped me grow in the last 10 years, (LIB will be 10 in November 2016), I’m creating four new brands under Linda Ikeji Media Ltd. The first is Linda Ikeji TV. I’m creating my own online TV Network. And in my new office, we built a studio where we can shoot some of our programmes. Our TV shows will include reality shows, entertainment/sport programmes, health/food programmes, game shows; talk shows etc…and eventually even a series. Some of our programmes will also air on terrestrial TV.
“The second brand is Linda Ikeji Radio, but not a radio station like many have thought. It’s an online radio (at least for now) and at the office, I built a podcast studio where we can operate; and some of our shows will be aired live. The third brand is Linda Ikeji Music. It’s a strictly music website for everything music in Nigeria plus. I am also building a state-of-the-art music studio. Then there’s LIS. Which I hope will be my biggest brand yet. Maybe even bigger than LIB. I will be unveiling that in a week or so, and I will need your massive support with this one,” she concluded.
She also added that the new project will require the service of new hands which include: a front desk officer/receptionist, TV presenter, editors, producers, cameramen, entertainment/music/crime writers, radio hosts, sound engineers, HR, accountant, administrative staff, customer care executives, marketers and drivers but will keep the online community posted as to when and how to apply.
Linda Ikeji breakthrough in blogging came in 2011, after about five years of consistent blogging. Since then she has risen to become arguably the most influential blogger in Nigeria, steadily raking in millions of naira every month from sponsored posts, custom ads, Google ads, top banners and site takeovers. In 2015 she was said to be worth over N1billion. Some other rating said she was worth a lot more.
