Lagos reaffirms commitment to technological development

The Lagos State government has reiterated its commitment to continued support for innovative and technological ideas or initiatives, by both private and public sectors, which will foster economic growth within the state.
Hakeem Fahm, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Lagos State, who stated this while delivering a goodwill message at the closing ceremony of the maiden edition of the Mack Hack 1.0.Mack, expressed conviction that after rigorous and intensive3 weeks of brainstorming and ideation on new concepts based on focus areas by the participants, that it will help place both the state and Nigeria in the league of top technological and innovative trailblazers across the globe.
Hack is an initiative of GDM Group and Eko Innovation Centre, designed to expand the frontiers of the marketing and media ecosystem in Nigeria.
“What GDM is doing lends credence to what the government is doing in providing an enabling environment. Be assured that Lagos State will continue to be at the forefront of technology. Know that you are trusted and we have confidence that you will deliver the right result for us. For the hackers, I mean the real hackers, the creators, the innovators, the future of the state, our country and the world is in your hands, because we have to innovate in order to move forward,” Mr. Fahm said.
He reassured the participants and organisers of the government’s unflinching support in ensuring that every innovative entrepreneur is exposed to non-hostile policy that will guarantee a seamless service delivery and accelerate the growth of technology as a catalyst for economic development.
“I will use this opportunity to state that this administration will continue to support technology because we believe that the future of our country and the world will have to harness the power of technology to make progress. We survived Covid-19 pandemic with a fast track in technology. If we have to improve on our economy again, we have to rely on technology,” he said.
