GTBank launches a new platform for shopping, music and others
In a bid to build a platform that is less about bank and more about its customers and everything needed for a suitable lifestyle, one of Africa’s leading financial institutions, Guaranty Trust Bank has launched Habari, Nigeria’s largest platform for shopping, lifestyle, music and many more.
The platform which offers an end-to-end shopping experience allows users buy goods and services directly from over 10,000 small businesses. Habari users can also shake their phones to find and connect with friends, split bills, transfer and receive funds as well as pay for utilities, subscriptions and other services.
In a statement by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Bank plc., Mr Segun Agbaje, he explained that the platform was created to reawaken the role of banking and inspire more innovation in the way the institution serve its customers.
He added that Habari is not a mobile banking application; it is the beginning of a journey towards building a platform that connects the brand’s customers to everything they need. In his words, “We are excited about this journey and we are confident that our customers will see in Habari a simple, smart and exciting digital experience that adds value to their lives, every day.”
The mobile application is open and free for all to download, it does not require mobile banking details and offers a wide range of services, all of which are accessible to anyone regardless of where they choose to bank. Habari is also very simple to use.
According to industry watchers, GTBank in recent times has consistently played a leading role in Africa’s banking industry making it one of the best run financial institutions across its subsidiary countries.
The launch which took place at a special event last Friday was witnessed by renowned personalities across the industry and other sectors.
