CWG to roll out 8,000 ATMs in Nigeria
To support the Central Bank of Nigeria’s financial inclusion drive, CWG Plc, a leading technological solutions provider, is set to roll-out 8,000 Automated Teller Machine, ATMs, in the country.
The Acting Managing Director, CWG, Adewale Adeyipo, disclosed this during an interactive session with newsmen in Lagos.
Mr. Adeyipo stressed that the move was important to ensure the banks take their hands off the ATM operations in the country. He noted that the company had already obtained its ATM deployment license which enables it to deploy ATMs across the country even in remote areas.
“The goal is for us to let the banks get their hands off the ATM and with our ATM deployment license, it gives us the opportunity to do more. So, I deploy the ATM, the banks pay me for that. We are going to deploy about 8,000 ATMs in the next 24 months,” he said.
The CWG Boss added that apart from the ATM business, the company was also assisting the banks in other banking operations to render qualitative services to their customers.
According to him, CWG is currently providing services to 13 banks in the country which is over 60 per cent of the banking transactions in Nigeria.
“We have two banks in Nigeria that spread their operations in about 19 countries in Africa and we will be going with them to those 19 countries,” Mr. Adeyipo disclosed.
