COFFHA announces Ali-Balogun as 6th president

The Committee of Friends for Humanity (COFFHA), a non-profit organisation, has announced Nkechi Ali-Balogun, one of the leading lights in Nigeria’s integrated marketing communications industry, as the sixth president of the association. The ceremony took place during the president’s investiture and fundraising for the completion of her skills acquisition centre on Sunday, 19th of June, 2022 at Grace Garden event centre, Lagos.
Commenting on her new position, Ali-Balogun said: “I am proud to be a Coffhite. I am most honoured to be elected president of the association. With the help and support of my executive council and fellow women of worth as we are called, I will do my best to meet the challenges.
“COFFHA has been built on a strong leadership foundation, and I am fortunate to have a membership that is fully committed to the ideals of COFFHA; women passionate enough to go the extra mile to sustain the association and carry out the many worthwhile projects that we undertake for the benefit of humanity.”
Congratulating Ali-Balogun on her investiture as the new president, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter said: “Your investiture is an acknowledgement of your value to the PR profession in Nigeria and humanity at large.
“As a distinguished council member of the NIPR and exemplary member of the Lagos State Chapter, you remain a worthy role model to the institute. You are indeed a woman of value and kindness; it is our belief that COFFHA will greatly benefit from your leadership.”
Carol Akum Ufere, the immediate past president, and co-founder of COFFHA also congratulated the new president and her executives who are saddled with the affairs of the association for the next two years. She urged all the women of worth of COFFHA and the new executives to support the new leadership.
Godrey Ogbechie, the group executive director of Rainoil Limited and co-chairman of the occasion, during her speech, said it was a privilege and an honour for her to be invited. She said she did not hesitate to answer the call because of her philosophy of life.
“I’m motivated by people who do what they can, small or big, to lift others. I said small or big because every other way of making life better for others does not have to come in truckloads, it does not necessarily have to be attention-grabbing,” she said.
Ali- Balogun is one of the leading Public Relations experts in Nigeria, and a multi-talented industry veteran with over 25 years of professional experience in client service and public relations consultancy. She has been proffering value-added solutions to managerial problems and turning issues, as they arise, into opportunities.

COFFHA Nigeria was incorporated in January, 1993 as a non-profit organization whose main focus is the uplifting of the less privileged women and children in the society. It is a body of women who have excelled in various fields of endeavour and have merited recognition for their integrity and selfless contributions to their individual professions, communities and the society at large. COFFHA is reputed for its quick intervention to societal needs and other social responsibilities without discrimination to age, gender, religious beliefs or political affiliation.
Within the timeframe of its existence, the association has among other things been able to build the COFFHA Emergency Centre at Isolo General Hospital, Isolo, Lagos, executed the refurbishment and furnishing of a 16-bed female ward for Apapa Health Centre, Apapa, Lagos, and have successful mobilise and organised the donation of wheelchairs to Lagos State Management Board, among others.
