Coca-Cola phases out spiced flavor set for new launch in 2025

Coca-Cola is pulling the plug on its Spiced flavor just seven months after its launch while revealing plans to gradually discontinue it to make way for a new flavor debuting in 2025.

According to Food Dive, Coca-Cola’s recent innovations have largely been driven by its Creations platform, which was launched in 2022 to showcase the brand’s signature beverage in creative ways and appeal to younger demographics.

The report noted that the beverage giant did not provide a specific explanation for discontinuing Spiced but stated that it regularly reassesses consumer preferences and adjusts its product lineup accordingly. The Spiced flavor, a fusion of classic Coca-Cola with hints of raspberry and spice-inspired notes, hit store shelves in February and was the brand’s first long-term release in over three years.

Over the years, introducing new flavors has become a notable trend and a crucial element in Coca-Cola’s strategy to sustain consumer enthusiasm for its products.

The cola brand leader said the Spiced flavor was designed to appeal to shifting consumer tastes, particularly among younger generations seeking bold and adventurous flavors. Despite its name, Coca-Cola clarified that Spiced is not a hot or spicy drink but offers a rich, layered taste profile.
