Balogun Takes over as Chams new CMO/Deputy MD
Chams Plc, experts of identity relationship management in Nigeria has promoted Mr. Luq Balogun as its group Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer.
A statement released from the firm reveals that he was elevated from the seat of the Program Director, a position he held for a year and six months to this new level.
As the Deputy Managing Director/Chief Marketing Officer, Balogun has the responsibility to strategically position CHAMS PLC’ sales and marketing team, incorporating product development, sales and branding for market leadership.
He started his career with Diamond Bank Plc as Funds Transfer Officer between 1991 and 1998. He left Diamond Bank for Standard Trust Bank (now UBA Plc) where he served for five years as Business Manager.
After the Standard Trust Merger with United Bank for Africa Plc, he became the Regional Director managing the strategic leadership of a business area comprising three regional directorates, 30 branches and 1,000 staff from April 2008 to 2010.
Also at UBA, he worked as the Regional Bank Head at Isolo, Ikeja and Mainland from May 2010 to March 2012, and as the Divisional Head, e-Banking, as well as a Group Director in e-Banking & Retail Products for a year and five months.
Balogun also had a stint with Masria Card, a smart card manufacturing and personalization company based in Cairo Egypt, as the Consultant / Project Manager.
Startrust Multi-Dynamics Incorporated also had him as the Program Director from September 2005 to September 2013. There, he was in charge of Energy Management with focus on energy efficiency initiatives in emerging markets
Before then, he had served as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at Card Centre Nigeria Limited (CCNL) in 2013, a foremost EMV Card personalization and fulfilment company.
During his reign as the Programs Director, Balogun was responsible for the delivery of the BVN project, a project CHAMS PLC partnered with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).
