Africa missing on Bestads global agencies ranking for 2019
The Continent of Africa was conspicuously missing out in the latest Bestads Rankings of the top advertising agencies across top 10 countries of the world during the period of the year 2019.
And even as the continent virtually got no representation in the advertising agencies Bestads annual global ranking, the USA, UK, Australia, France and Brazil are the top five countries of the world for the year under review.
The 2019 Bestads Rankings of the top advertising agencies in the world was based on points awarded for work selected in Top 6 of the Week on bestadsontv.com over the last year. The Rankings also include the top executive creative directors, creative directors, creatives, client companies, including top directors and production companies.
The USA was a clear leader in 2019, with 229 points, followed by the UK on 166 points and Australia on 136 points. France was placed 4th on 94 points, Brazil 5th on 91 points, New Zealand 6th on 83 points, Canada 7th on 54 points, Germany 8th on 51 points, Sweden 9th on 38 points and Spain at number 10 on 32 points.
The USA is the All-Time leading country over the last 15 years, with 3537 points, ahead of the UK on 3182 points. Australia is placed 3rd on 2179 points, Brazil fourth on 1205 points, New Zealand fifth on 1203 points, France 6th on 1165 points, Canada 7th on 801 points, South Africa 8th on 747 points, the Netherlands 9th on 497 points and Germany 10th on 477 points.
According to the Bestad ratings, the top 20 advertising agencies in the world in 2019 were: DDB New Zealand with 26 points, BETC Paris with 25 points, BBH London, 16 points, adam&eve DDB London 15 points, Colenso BBDO, Auckland 15 points, Rosapark, Paris 13 points, DDB Paris 12 points, Droga5, New York 12 points, The Brand Agency, Perth 12 points, and LCT, Brazil with 11 points.
Others include, Stendahls, Sweden 11 points, Wieden + Kennedy, Portland 11 points, BBDO New York 10 points, McCann New York 10 points, AMV BBDO, London 9 points, . Clemenger BBDO, Wellington 9 points, Mother, London 9 points, Publicis Italy 9 points, TBWA Paris 9 points and VCCP, London 9 points.
Top agencies in the USA according to the ratings include, Droga5, New York 12 with points, Wieden + Kennedy, Portland 11 points, BBDO New York points10, McCann, New York and DDB, Chicago 8.
Top advertising agencies in the UK according to the ratings also include, BBH, London 16 points, adam&eveDDB London 15 points, AMV BBDO, London points9, Mother, London 9 points and VCCP, London with 9 points.
In Australia according to the ratings, the top advertising agencies are The Brand Agency, Perth 11 points, DDB Sydney 7 points, The Monkeys, Sydney 7 points, The Monkeys, Sydney 7 points, CHE Proximity 6 points, BMF Sydney 5 points, Clemenger BBDO, Sydney 5 points, Saatchi & Saatchi, Melbourne 5 points and Thinkerbell, Melbourne 5 points.
In Africa, however, no advertising agency made it on the list of top 2019 ratings. Not even South Africa which ranked 8th on 747 cumulative points over the last 15 years of the Bestads global agencies rankings.
