NCR (Nigeria) Plc has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of renowned global health advocate and development expert, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saraki, as a Non-Executive Director.

The appointment, which became effective on June 11, 2026, still awaits shareholders’ approval at the company’s next Annual General Meeting (AGM). Nevertheless, the move signals the company’s determination to reinforce its corporate governance structure and accelerate its ongoing growth trajectory.

The company disclosed that its Board of Directors approved Saraki’s appointment through a written resolution passed on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

According to the company, the decision forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the board’s capacity as NCR Nigeria continues to consolidate on its recent financial rebound and position itself for long-term expansion.

“The Board of Directors of NCR (Nigeria) Plc, by way of a written resolution dated Thursday, 11 June 2026, appointed Her Excellency, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saraki, as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Company with effect from 11 June 2026, subject to ratification by shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting of the Company,” the statement read.

By bringing Saraki onto its board, NCR Nigeria gains a highly accomplished professional whose experience cuts across law, public policy, governance, advocacy, and strategic leadership in both domestic and international circles.

Consequently, the company’s Board and Management expressed confidence that her extensive expertise and global network would significantly enrich its governance framework while supporting its long-term business ambitions.

Beyond the corporate world, Saraki has built an enviable reputation as one of Africa’s leading voices in global health and development advocacy. She currently serves as the Inaugural and Emeritus Global Goodwill Ambassador of the International Confederation of Midwives and also acts as Special Adviser to the World Health Organisation’s Regional Office for Africa.

Furthermore, she continues to champion maternal and reproductive health through several high-profile advocacy roles, including serving as the UNFPA Nigeria Family Planning Champion and Global Champion of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.
