Marketing Edge Publisher, John Ajayi inducted into NGE
Veteran journalist and Publisher of Nigeria’s leading marketing and advertising magazine, Marketing Edge, John Ajayi is now a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), He was inducted into the guild, which is an umbrella body for Nigerian top editors and media elites, over the weekend during the the 2017 Biennial Convention held at Lagos Airport Hotel Ikeja, Lagos.
Ajayi, was one out of the over 100 top media and communications experts that underwent the induction ceremony, where they swore to uphold the tenets of the journalism profession and the constitution of the Nigerian Guild of Editors at all times.
“As a member of the guild, I shall uphold good conduct at all times and will not engage in any act that may bring the NGE to ridicule” they pledged.
Ajayi who has about 30 years of journalism practice under his belt, was a pioneer reporter on the advertising and marketing beat where he gained his legendary reputation as an authority in reporting the multi-billion naira marketing communications industry.
A graduate of English Language from the University of Lagos and Master degree holder from the same institution, Ajayi worked with some of Nigeria’s renowned media organizations including The News Magazine, THISDAY Newspaper and Comet.
His devotion to the growth of the marketing communications industry compelled him to start MARKETING EDGE more than 10 years ago, a publication that has now become the most authoritative voice of the industry, and the leading advertising and marketing publication in Nigeria.
And in further pursuance of the vision, he also established the National Marketing Stakeholders Summit and the Brand and Advertising Excellent Awards which is a platform that honours outstanding individuals and corporate organizations in the sector, as well as provide the environment for stakeholder engagement to chart the way forward for the industry.
