Zion Rufus emerges as Brand Journalist of the Year 2023 at ADVAN Awards
Zion Rufus, an accomplished brand journalist, emerged as the proud recipient of the Brand Journalist of the Year 2023 accolade. This recognition was bestowed upon her at the highly anticipated ADVAN Awards of Excellence, a celebration that applauds excellence and creativity in brand journalism, organized by the Advertisers Association of Nigeria.
Competing in a field of outstanding candidates, Rufus’s creative prowess and remarkable ability to convene industry leaders to address pertinent industry matters earned her recognition as a rising star in the world of brand journalism. Although coming in second place to Jeremiah Agada, who claimed the first spot, her contribution to the field as “a young brand journalist making a difference”also stood out, making her a deserving recipient of this esteemed accolade.
She currently serves as an Associate Editor at Marketing Edge Publications, showcasing her versatility and proficiency across various aspects of the media and communications landscape.
Throughout her dynamic career, Rufus has collaborated with distinguished organizations and publications. Her engagements include work with ADMARP, Lingo Africa, Lagos People, Marketing Edge Publications, United Nations SDG Book Club (Namibia Chapter), and Yaw Naija Entertainment, led by the renowned OAP and Actor, Steve Onu.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Zion Rufus is a published author, earning recognition for her popular book ‘Diary of a Lagos Girl,’ launched in 2018.
Her commitment to literature and sustainable development was evident in her role as a Borders Publicist for the UN SDG Book Club African Chapter – Borders Literature for all Nations. Actively involved in organizing the Club’s initiatives, she demonstrated a dedication to promoting literature and fostering development across borders.
