Wema Bank drives innovation through 945 Game Show streamed Live on Facebook.

2016 is undoubtedly the year of video. Facebook recently announced they will now be ‘video-first’ after successfully innovating as mobile-first. The company launched Facebook Live earlier this year providing users the ability to live stream from any device. While most in Nigeria have been slow to adopt this, one unlikely brand is thinking far ahead.

Wema Bank recently put a stamp on Nigerian digital history by being the first brand to adopt Facebook Live in Nigeria. While it’s great to see brands who are continuously thinking about innovation, what’s even more exciting is that they didn’t just stream live but rather went all out and launched a game show, possibly making them the first to do this in the world.

The 945 game show powered by Wema Bank is an exciting and innovative idea created to drive awareness for the bank’s USSD offering *945#. For the last 23 days, the bank has giving away 90, 40 and 50 thousand naira consecutively to three lucky winners who used *945# the previous day.
