Turkish Airlines has reiterated its commitment to boosting Nigerian aviation market, promoting the country’s tourism, providing exceptional customer experiences and meeting the evolving needs of Nigerian passengers.
During a recent parley to foster closer relationship with key media partners and share its strategic goals, Lokman Balkan, General Manager of Turkish Airlines Nigeria, noted that the company focuses on making travel seamless, connected, and comfortable for Nigerian passengers.
He pointed out that the technology arm of the airlines continuously enhances its website and mobile app to ensure smooth booking and after-sales services, while Turkish Airlines Holidays Programme allows passengers to arrange flights, hotels, and additional services on a single integrated platform.
”For transit passengers, Touristanbul and our stopover programme transform layovers into value-added travel experiences. By combining smart digital solutions with refined service and Turkish hospitality, we meet the evolving expectations of today’s travellers,” he said.
On how Turkish Airlines audits its Nigerian operations to ensure compliance with global service standards, Mr. Balkan stated that the company conducts regular audits to ensure that its services meet the highest standards of quality and safety. He, however, added that the frequency of the audits varies depending on the size and complexity of the company’s operations.
Also, Turkish Airlines, the GM revealed, gathers and acts upon customer feedback, specifically from the Nigerian market, through various channels, such as its mobile application, website and a satisfaction survey displayed 20 minutes before the landing on the IFE screens of each flight.
”We analyse this feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the customer experience. We take customer feedback seriously and use it to drive continuous improvement in our services,” he noted.
Describing Istanbul’s strategic location as an ideal hub for trade and business, Mr. Balkan said that Nigerian entrepreneurs and SMEs can leverage Turkish Airlines’ extensive network to expand into Turkiye and access new markets in 6 continents.
”We offer various services, including cargo, business travel, and tourism opportunities, to support their growth,” he added.
Restating the airlines’ commitment to promoting Nigeria as a tourist destination and encouraging visitors to explore the country, the GM said, “Last year, we launched a promotional video showcasing Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, which reached tens of millions of people worldwide. The video, which can be seen on our social media pages, highlights the country’s vibrant cities, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality.”
The media parley culminated in a success, achieving high levels of engagement and fostering a positive sentiment toward Turkish Airlines’ new initiatives, particularly the company’s five-year vision to continue to provide exceptional customer experiences and meet the evolving needs of Nigerian passengers.
