Snapchat unveils “Show Them Who WE A/RE” campaign to inspire young Black women
The Snapchat Creative Council has launched its first winning campaign “Show Them Who WE A/RE” with the aim to inspire and encourage young Black women to see themselves in professional roles where they are often underrepresented, and it also includes a set of inspirational stickers and a micro site offering resources for Snapchatters seeking similar career paths.
Snapchat Creative Council was formed as a multiyear partnership between Snap and Adcolor to unite leading Black creatives and have them address challenging issues across civic engagement, education and mental health, driving awareness among the Snapchat community.
Small creative teams are encouraged to pitch augmented reality campaigns on issues that disproportionately affect Black communities, and with support from Snapchat’s creative strategy teams, the winning ideas will be brought to life and promoted across its official channels.
The campaign was developed by a team of creatives which includes Makeda Loney (Copywriter, The Martin Agency), So A Ryu (Designer, FCB Chicago), Brandon Heard (Senior Strategist, R/GA), Cameron Carr (Account Manager, BBDO) and Terrance Purdy (Creative, VICE Media),
