Nigerite officially unveils Kalsi
Nigerite Limited, the fifty six year old innovator and pacesetter in Nigeria’s built industry officially unveils the global standard Kalsi products range into the Nigerian market with fanfare and sentiment of “mission accomplished” event on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, South West Nigeria.
Kalsi is the new definition dry construction concept consisting the use of building boards installed over a timber or light steel frame sub construction. The green and sustainable, cost effective, rapid installation and waste reducing lightweight technology was appropriately described by the Managing Director of the company, Frank Le Bris as, “Tomorrow is right here today”.
Presenting the new product at a well attended event by professionals, special guests, media and business personalities, including directors of Nigerite plc and investors in the built business. Among the personalities are Mr. Hakeem Ogunniran, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, UPDC; Architect Tokunbo Omisore, President, Africa Union of Architects, Quantity Surveyor (Mrs.) Okusaga among many others.
In his welcome address, fulfilled innovation driver Mr. Frank Le Briss says, “For us in Nigerite, the introduction of this set of tomorrow’s products today is a major technological accomplishment for Nigeria. This is because, it simply puts Nigeria in a comfortable position as a reckoning force in the committee of developed and developing countries in the world by promoting a product that is at the peak of innovative building trend in America, Europe and some parts of Asia”
Nigerite, the fusion of the visions of both one hundred and fifteen year old Etex Group from Belgium and Oodua Group of the government of the Western Region of Nigeria was birthed in 1959 to provide unequalled high-tech products and services for the advancement of superior building sector, up till today, the landscape of the construction industry has not remained the same anymore.
Mr. Hakeem Ogunniran, the Managing Director/CEO, UPDC Plc, a strategic partner in the built business and member of the ubiquitous UAC conglomerate could not agree less on the valuable intervention of Nigerite in the industry.
He says, “There are three fundamental problems of housing in Nigeria, namely Land title, Housing financing and Construction methodology. The first two are being addressed by government, ministries, departments and concerned agencies and institutions, but the traditional and conventional method of building have become the “impossible-bridge” to meet the estimated 20 million housing gap.
“With this dry technology, that gap will be easier to fill. We have worked with Kalsi and we are privileged to have deployed the dry technology and we are not disappointed, it is a good answer, a valuable intervention indeed from Nigerite”.
Kalsi’s building intervention include Ceiling, Wall, Plank, Clad and Floor with recommended screws, accessories and supporting structure and trained crew for a successful solution.
