Thibaut Boidin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Breweries Plc, has been appointed Chairman of the Beer Sectoral Group (BSG) of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), effective March 5, 2026.

The BSG represents Nigeria’s leading brewing companies and serves as a unified platform for industry engagement with government, regulators and key stakeholders on policy, regulation and sector-wide development. Boidin succeeds Mr. Carlos Coutino in the role.

Announcing the appointment on its Instagram page, Nigerian Breweries described the development as a significant moment for the brewing sector. In his new role, Boidin will work closely with the Board of CEOs to provide strategic leadership for the group, advancing priorities that include driving sustainable category growth, advocating for balanced and growth-oriented fiscal policies, and strengthening the long-term competitiveness of beer within Nigeria’s beverage market.

“His forward-looking leadership and commitment to excellence will help shape a stronger future for the brewing sector,” the company said.

Boidin brings extensive international leadership experience spanning nine countries to the BSG chairmanship. He joined the HEINEKEN Group in 2017 as Deputy Managing Director of France Boissons, HEINEKEN’s largest integrated distributor, before going on to hold Chief Transformation Officer roles at HEINEKEN France and HEINEKEN Europe. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of HEINEKEN Romania, one of the group’s largest operations in Eastern Europe, before his appointment as chief executive of Nigerian Breweries Plc.

His elevation to the BSG chairmanship signals the brewing industry’s confidence in his strategic vision at a time when Nigeria’s beverage market continues to navigate complex regulatory and economic headwinds.
