Nigerian breweries bags MAN award for Best Kept Industrial Premises

Pioneer and largest brewing company in Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries PLC has won the award for Best-Kept Industrial Premises for 2022 in the multinational category.
The award, issued to NB PLC’s Lagos Brewery in Iganmu was presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) which held in Apapa.
The MAN Award for Best Kept Industrial Premises is aimed at encouraging members’ adherence to environmental regulations and standards, and to also improve their environmental friendliness. Areas of inspection include external and internal premises, utilities, solid waste management, effluent treatment plant, pollution abatement, use of relevant and quality personal protective equipment, green-life and general aesthetics, government certifications as well as general good housekeeping.
Commenting on the award, NB PLC said in a tweet: “We say a big thank you to MAN for the award and congratulations to Team Lagos Brewery. The award was issued to our world-class Lagos Brewery, Iganmu, commissioned in 1949 and the oldest of our 9 breweries in Nigeria.”
Nigerian Breweries manager, Utuk Utibe-Abasi received the award from the DG, Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), Mallam Farouk Salim and the DG, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, Mr. Segun Ajayi-Kadir (mni) in the company of Tayo Adelaja, Corporate Affairs Manager, Lagos; and Victoria Akpabio-Uche, Corporate Affairs Advisor.
The Lagos Brewery which was commissioned in 1949 and upgraded in 2009 is one of 9 breweries of the NB PLC. The other breweries include: ABA Brewery, Abia State; Ama Brewery, Enugu State; Ijebu-Ode Brewery, Ogun State; Kakuri Brewery, Kaduna State; Kudenda Brewery, Kaduna State; Ota Brewery, Ogun State; and Awo-Omamma Brewery, in Imo State.
