MARKETING EDGE Stakeholders’ Summit holds next week with 22 speakers

Propelled by its resolve to continuously set agenda for the Integrated marketing communications(IMC) industry, Nigeria’s foremost brands & marketing publication, MARKETING EDGE has lined up 22 speakers for its 2021 Marketing Stakeholders’ Summit scheduled for 26th, August, 2021.
The virtual summit themed: “Rethinking the Blue Ocean Strategy in Uncertain Times”, will feature speakers including global thought leaders, academics ,captains of industries and outstanding professionals from the marketing communications industry and beyond.
It would be recalled that the summit, in its 8th edition, has become a forum where stakeholders and thought leaders gather to expand the frontiers of discourse and set agenda for the IMC industry.
The virtual event will precede the much anticipated Brands & Advertising Awards of Excellence scheduled for August, 27th, 2021 at the D’Podium Event Centre, Aromire, Ikeja, Lagos.

Vikas Mehta(Guest Speaker)
A strategist by training, Vikas experience spans managing units across disciplines including advertising (Online & Offline), digital transformation, social & experiential, PR & Influence. He believes in Omni Channel approach to building brands which creates a unified experience across consumer touch points.
Prior to Ogilvy Africa, Vikas was CEO at Muller Lintas, India. Earlier in his career, Vikas joined Ammirati Puris Lintas in its New Delhi Office in 2002. After a brief stint with Leo Burnett, he returned to the network in 2006, moving to Lowe-Vetnam in Ho chi Minh City.
At the age of 31, he was named Managing Director Lowe -Vietnam, making him the youngest country head in the youngest country head in the global network. Under his leadership, the agency went on to create some iconic campaigns, dominate effectiveness awards in the region and become the largest creative agency in the country.
Ozoemena Mbanefo(Moderator)
Ozoemena Mbanefo is the founder of Nigeria’s foremost adschool of brands and marketing communications, Oxygen Academy, otherwise referred to as O2 Academy.
Ozone is the brain behind the installation of the first 3D zebra crossing in Nigeria, an idea that is now duplicated in other parts of the country to help make the Nigerian roads safer for pedestrians. He recently launched an online advertising school, deepening opportunities for intending advertising hopefuls.
Preetesh Sewraj(Panelist)
Preetesh Sewraj is the Chief Executive Officer, Loeries Africa and the Middle East. He is a leading business innovator and veteran brand builder. Sewraj is a consummate speaker and experienced facilitator who has featured regularly on CNN, SABC News, The Sunday Times, Destiny Man, SAFM, Channel Africa and other media platforms.
He is the co-host of Power Edge on Power 98.7’s Power Lunch and has spoken at several conferences including TEDx Soweto, TEDx Johannesburg, the GIBS Innovation Conference, the PIA Idea Design Conference, Seamless Retail, and the Wired Women Conference.
Jolomi Awala(Panelist)
Jolomi Awala is the Creative Director, Ogilvy Africa, Nigeria. He is an experienced creative leader, highly effective in incorporating creative leadership skills to help achieve business objectives.
His advertising journey has seen him deploy his craft and leave indelible footprints at creative shops that include Insight Publicis, BBDO, Centrespread Grey, and Noah’s Ark. Awala has worked across a range of Nigerian and global businesses spanning industries like Non-Alcoholic / Alcoholic Drinks, Banking and Fintech, Telco and Tech, Music and Entertainment.
Odion Aleobua(panelist)
Odion Aleobua is the Chief Executive Officer of Modion Communications. He is a Public Affairs, Public Relations and Communications expert with over 15 years’ experience. His experiences cut across multiple sectors such as managing multi-million-dollar companies in Mobility, Oil & Gas, Governance & Policy, Aviation, Finance, Tech and Renewable Energy sectors. Odion managed Oando Group’s (one of Africa’s leading integrated energy group) PR, Media Strategies and Investor Relations across three continents, as well as Nigeria Johannesburg and Toronto Stock Exchange.
Otis Ojekhoa(Panelist)
A professional cum entrepreneur, Otis, as he is simply called, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brands Optimal, a front running experiential marketing agency in Nigeria, with footholds in Nigeria and Ghana.
Before founding his own company, Otis had garnered over 15 years marketing and sales experience with nine of those years in Senior Management positions. He was Country Sales Manager at Kodak, and Managing Director at Brand Footprint.
Tolu Onile-Ere(Panelist)
Tolu Onile-Ere is the Managing Director of Playhouse Communication Ltd. Tolu has over 18 years integrated marketing experience gained in top agencies in London & Nigeria across a range of renowned blue chip clients and brands, including Shell, Adobe, Procter & Gamble, Stanbic IBTC & MTN.
Tolu’s expertise is varied, but his real strengths lie in being a digital evangelist and an advocate of thought leadership. Throughout his career, he has been heavily involved in a range of pioneering digital projects, which has given him a real passion for the possibilities digital offers.

Marie Okorie is a creative spirit, a poet, digital strategist, content specialist and storytelle She is currently part of the Digital Media team of Africa’s foremost leading financial house, United Bank for Africa(UBA), where she’s changing the narrative one story at a time. Zion Thompson(Panelist)
Zion serves as the Head of Growth at iVEN DIGITAL and the Managing Partner at Startup Launchcode. He has worked with startups in creating a growth roadmap and has participated in various marketing and business management conferences, mastermind and consulting sessions and training in Dubai, South Africa and multiple locations within the US.
Zion Thompson is a business growth and marketing professional with over a decade of hands-on experience in the areas of digital marketing, operations, customer experience improvement, marketing analytics, fostering strategic partnerships, strategy development and implementation.
Rita Ezenwa-Okoro(Panelist)
Rita Ezenwa-Okoro is the Founder of R.O.C Strategic Communications Ltd, a marketing communication platform that helps businesses develop and manage their day-to-day strategic communication needs.
She is the architect behind talent discovery and development projects such as Project Raw, The Reflection Series and most recently, a strategist, Creative Youth Boot Camp. Program Officer, she was also Speech Therapist & tutor for autistic children at Learning Interventions.
Bada Akintunde Johnson(Panelist)
Bada Akintunde-Johnson is the Country Manager for ViacomCBS Networks Africa where he oversees entertainment brands such as MTVBase, Nickelodeon, BET and Comedy Central in Nigeria.
Close to two decades now, he has worked in the Marketing communications and Media spaces. Prior to his current role, he worked as Creative Director, Globacom, where he created some of the most talked about and most awarded campaigns of the last decade in Nigeria.
Prof. Abraham Oshinubi(Panelist)
Professor Abraham Adewale A. Osinubi is the Executive Director of University of Lagos Business School. A Medical Doctor, an Anatomist, a Stereologist, a Teacher, a Motivational instructor, a conference/public speaker, a Theologian, health commentator and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.
He is the foundation Editor-in-Chief of the University Of Lagos Journal Of Basic Medical Sciences and has authored over 120 scientific publications in learnt journals and two textbooks of Anatomy. He co-authored the first National Clinical Practice Guidelines for Diabetes Management in Nigeria in 2012.

Tunji Adeyinka(Panelist)
Tunji Adeyinka is currently the President of Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN). He is also Group Managing Director of the Republicom Group, a full-service agency group with an inspired agenda to transform businesses in Africa by offering strategic business, marketing and communication solutions to meet their needs in a new digital age.
Tunji’s work experience has spanned the agency business where he worked in MC&A Saatchi & Saatchi, Tequila Nigeria, Rosabel and Connect Marketing Services. He also has some experience in the telecommunications sector where he worked for seven years.

Maureen Ngwu is currently the Business Director of MediaSeal WPI. She is a seasoned Media and Communications Professional with over 17 years of driving business growth and expansion.

Soji Olaogun(Panelist)

He is responsible for the growth of the digital business for Insight Publicis, Starcom Media Perspectives, Leo Burnett and All Seasons Zenith. He is also working on some of the world’s biggest brands like Mondelez, Pepsi, VISA, and Samsung.

Chibuike Goodnews(Panelist)
Chibuike Goodnews is the Co-founder of Dochase Adx Limited.
Prior to Dochase, he worked with two of the biggest banks in Nigeria where he performed banking operations relationship management and product development. He facilitated a number of products in the banks, including agricultural financing, warehouse financing and corporate lending, before moving to adtech.

Abena Annan(Panelist)
Abena Annan is the Masterbrand Marketing Manager at Sterling Bank, responsible for developing strategic direction and building equity for the Sterling flagship brand. As a seasoned Marketing Communications Professional with more than 14 years experience, Abena is known for driving brand growth, maximizing operational excellence and delivering financial performance.
She most recently served as Head of Client Services and Brand Management at Isobar, helping to deliver market-leading campaigns and experiences for Coca-Cola, Beiersdorf and Budweiser, to name a few.
