MARKETING EDGE congratulates Lanre Adisa on new leadership positions

Nigeria’s leading brands and marketing publication, MARKETING EDGE, has congratulated the newly elected president of Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, (AAAN) and newly appointed Chairman of Heads of Advertising Sectoral Groups (HASG) respectively, Mr Lanre Adisa on his two major industry leadership positions.

Similarly, the pioneer of the brand journalism media group, also congratulated past leaders of Media Independent Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) and out- going HASG President, Dr. Femi Adelusi, as well as past President of AAAN, Mr Steve Babaeko for their individual contributions to the growth and development of the industry through their respective leadership positions, noting that they have acquitted and discharged themselves creditably well.

Lanre Adisa,a distinguished soft- speaking advertising icon and leader with mellifluous voice is Chief Executive Officer of Noah’s Ark whose brand personality appeals to a preponderance of major industry players and gladiators.

Speaking on this development, the Publisher/ CEO of MARKETING EDGE PUBLICATIONS Ltd, Mr John Ajayi, in a statement said, “the two major positions being occupied by Mr Lanre Adisa are very pivotal to the continued relevance and survival of the industry which today is at cross-roads over series of challenges and unethical practices bedevilling each of the sectoral groups.”

In his words, “While one is not being alarmist, it is a naked fact that the entire gamut of the Integrated marketing communications sector is battling with inter and intra- sectoral hiccups and challenges which have been gravely impacting on growth and development”.

Mr. John Ajayi further mentioned that the ascension into the all – important positions of these two key and critical leadership positions by Mr Lanre Adisa, a seasoned creative adman with easy – going attitude and humble mien will no doubt help the industry to a greater extent in navigating through the myriads of challenges facing the industry.

Emphasizing on this, he said, “If truth be told, the industry presently yearns for leaders who are bold and courageous to mid- wife it through the maze of self inflicted challenges and get everybody on board.”

“We sincerely appeal to all sectoral groups to rally round the new HASG leadership and its team as there is need to move the industry forward, appealing specially to the leadership of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria( ADVAN) to reconsider its earlier withdrawal of membership of HASG in the over all interest of the industry.”

For AAAN, Ajayi stated that the coming of Lanre Adisa promises “a new dawn of greater heights.”

In a similar vein,the publisher congratulated all the newly elected excos of all the sectoral groups as well as the leadership of ADVAN on their elections pointing out that leadership is a call to serve. He enjoined them to work together in conjunction with the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria ( ARCON) to lift the industry from the present affordable crises plaguing the sector.

“This season calls for a rethinking. It calls for action and it calls for soberness and self re-appraisal as nothing good comes from a divided house”.

In addition to being the President of AAAN and the Chairman of HASG, Lanre Adisa is also the CEO of Noah’s Ark. He was the first West African to serve on the Cannes Lions jury in 2018 and is recognised in the industry for his pioneering achievements in the advertising industry in the region.
