LCCI & PwC set to hold virtual business outlook seminar

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in collaboration with PwC Nigeria are set to hold a 2021 Business Outlook Seminar. The event is slated for Thursday, 5 August, 2021 on Zoom platform by 12noon (WAT).
The event, with the theme “HALF YEAR ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS OUTLOOK SEMINAR 2021”, is to facilitate robust discussion and deliberations on the performance of the Nigeria economy in the first half of the year 2021.
According to the organisers, the business outlook will also highlight practical issues, opportunities/risks to economic and business outlook.
The lined up speakers and distinguished subject experts at the event includes: Dr. Andrew S. Nevin, Partner & Chief Economist, PwC Nigeria; Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader, PwC Nigeria; Dr. Ayodele Teriba, Chief Executive Officer of Economic Associates and Chairman of the Economics and Statistics Committee, LCCI is the moderator while Chief host is Mrs. Toki Mabogunje, President LCCI.
Dr. Andrew S. Nevin, who is the guest speaker is a nation builder and public intellectual in Nigeria, playing a number of key roles to advance Nigeria’s economy and society, including: Co-creator of the Self-Organising Naija concept (www.selforganisingnaija.org), Founding Governor of the Financial Centre for Sustainability (FC4S) Lagos, Tireless advocate for innovation in Nigeria, including (i) a leading advocates for Blockchain technology adoption in the country, including sponsoring the Blockchain (ii) Co-founder of Binkabi, a blockchain-enabled supply-chain finance platform investor in several Nigerian technology start-ups.
He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University; MA in Philosophy & Politics from Balliol College, Oxford University (where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar), and a BSc (Hon) in Computer Science & Mathematics from University of Western Ontario, Canada. In April 2011, he was named Strategy Consultant of the Year for 2010 by the Management Consultants Association in the UK. Andrew is a Canadian citizen.
Mr. Taiwo Oyedele is the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at PwC. He is the author of Insights on Taxation and Fiscal Policy; the Top 50 Tax Issues in Nigeria; and the Nigeria Transfer Pricing Chapter of the IBFD publication. He is a contributor to the annual doing business report of the World Bank and the Paying Taxes survey of PwC covering 190 economies worldwide.
He is the Thematic Lead for the Public Finance & Taxation Policy Commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group; Chairman of the Taxation & Fiscal Policy Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; member of the Nigerian Taxation Standards Board; and a member of the Ministerial Committee on the implementation of Nigeria’s National Tax Policy.
Taiwo is an alumnus of the London School of Economics, Yale University and Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education. He is a guest lecturer at the Lagos Business School and the Founder and President of Impact Africa Foundation.
Dr. Ayo Teriba is the CEO of Economic Associates (EA). He provides strategic direction for ongoing consulting and research work on the outlook of the Nigerian economy, focusing on: global, continental, national, subnational, and sector issues.
Specialties: His areas of expertise are macroeconomic, macro-monetary, macro-financial, and sectoral evolution at global, continental, national, and subnational/states levels. He is a keen follower of what the evolving realities of global oil price, equity index, exports, capital flows, and capital stocks portend for the liquidity, stability, growth and socioeconomic cohesion of continents, countries, states, sectors, companies, and citizens, and opportunities for strategically realigning with unfolding global realities at each level.
Toki Mabogunje has over 37 years of relevant professional experience and 20 years running her own company. She has worked with a wide range of international and national organizations including the World Bank Group, CIPE, ILO, IFC, DfID, USAID, PIND, GIZ, among others.
She is the current President Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Her specialties include: Business development services, organizational development, consulting, legal advice, training, capacity building, consulting for small and medium enterprises.
