Globacom has announced significant reductions to its International Direct Dialing (IDD) tariffs to several major countries that Nigerians usually call.

For both new and current subscribers throughout Nigeria, this lower the cost of calls to an affordable rate as low as ₦30.

New Tariffs Take Effect

Beginning from August 10, the new tariffs began to apply to calls to over 15 major overseas destinations.

Notable Rate Reductions

Due to the change, calls to the United States now cost ₦30 per minute instead of ₦35.

India’s rate has dropped from ₦45 to ₦40, while the rate to the United Kingdom has also been cut from ₦400 to ₦350.

Significant decreases also occurred in Saudi Arabia (₦300), Cameroon (₦700), and China (₦75).

Reviewed Rates to African Neighbours

Moreover, rates to neighbouring African countries have also undergone review. Benin Republic now costs ₦650 per minute, Niger Republic ₦750, Ghana ₦500, and Togo ₦650. Calls to the United Arab Emirates have reduced from ₦450 to ₦325.

Germany now stands at ₦550, Côte d’Ivoire ₦700, Libya ₦700, while Malawi has dropped from ₦1,200 to ₦1,100.

Glo Explains the Strategy

Globacom noted that the revised rates form part of a broader strategy to provide more value for new and existing Glo customers and encourage them to make Glo their preferred network for international calls due to the affordability and competitiveness of the reduced rates.

Furthermore, Globacom hinted at the rollout of new IDD bundles that will provide even more attractive deals for frequent international callers.
