Gbolahan Sanni joins Airtel as Vice President Brands and Marketing Communications
Gbolahan Sanni, a consummate marketer and one of the eggheads in the Nigerian Integrated Marketing Communications firmament, has been successfully head-hunted by Airtel Nigeria to lead its marketing and communications team as the Vice President, Brands and Communications.
The renowned marketing expert was until this appointment the Marketing Director at Coca-Cola Nigeria. Armed with globally acclaimed skills set in marketing and marketing experience that traverse both local and international markets, he successfully domesticated the global brand’s vision to ‘refresh the world’, thereby sustaining the brand’s leadership and improving its market acceptability in the face of stiff competition.
Mr. Sanni cut his teeth in the profession over 20 years ago as a Salesman/Market activation team member during his one-year NYSC intern at Unilever Nigeria. Since then, he has not looked back. From Unilever to Bates Cosse as an Account Executive, Diageo as Brand Support Manager; Guinness, Brand Manager, Lager and Brand Manager, Johnnie Walker, he consistently grew and honed his skills such that he became the marketing star that shone so brightly that The Coca-Cola Company had to tap him as Senior Brand Manager, Colas.
His rise from Senior Brand Manager to Marketing Director, though punctuated by the Marketing Manager – Flavours and Still Beverages, Franchise Marketing Manager, and Global Still Beverages Manager, speaks of the value, dedication, and contribution he brought to the table.
The BSc, Environmental Management & Toxicology holder from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration and Management, General; Executive Management Programme at IMD Business School and Certificate Programs: Marketing Strategy, Marketing Analytics at the Cornell University holder has validated these certifications as he has led teams to achieve marketing feats.
The seasoned marketing expert is expected to bring his vast knowledge and experience to bear on the Airtel Nigeria brand going forward.
