Gaskia Media Limited has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr John Ajayi, describing him as “one of the titans of the Nigerian media space.”
In a condolence message signed by its Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, Dare Babarinsa, CON, the company said it received with sadness the news of Ajayi’s sudden passing, noting that he was both a colleague and a friend.
According to the statement, Ajayi’s career was defined by persistence and vision. Babarinsa said that “through many years of creative struggle, he succeeded in creating a niche for himself and his company in the media industry,” adding that his impact on society was profound. He credited Ajayi with building Marketing Edge from nothing into “a thriving media company… which has become one of the most recognisable in the industry.”

The statement lamented the timing of his death, describing it as “a matter of sadness that he had to leave so suddenly when he was still in the process of building and impacting.” Reflecting on his life, Babarinsa gave thanks for what he called Ajayi’s “short but brilliant odyssey on Planet Earth.”
The condolence message offered prayers for Ajayi’s widow, asking that God grant her “the strength and wisdom to continue to carry his legacy down the generations,” and assuring her of divine support during the period of trial. It also expressed hope that “the work and his family which he had suddenly left in your lap” would prosper.
The statement concluded with prayers for Ajayi’s soul to rest in peace and extended “profound commiserations” to his family.
