CAP Plc offers facelift to SOS Social Centre New Look

As part of the global initiative tagged “Let’s Colour”, Chemical and Allied Products (CAP) Plc., a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc. (UACN) and the technological licensee of AkzoNobel, world’s largest paints and coatings company has supported the SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria by giving its building a total facelift.

Speaking at the event held at SOS Children’s Villages Social Centre in Ejigbo, the Managing Director, CAP Plc, Mrs. Omolara Elemide said that the decision to give the SOS Social Centre a new look stemmed from the commitment of the company to create colourful experiences for disadvantaged communities by adding colour to their lives.

“This year, we have chosen the SOS Children’s Villages Social Centre in Ejigbo, as our activation point. It will be recalled that early this year, CAP and SOS Children’s Village signed a 3-year MOU to empower youths of SOS Children’s Village with painting skills. Consequently, CAP trained 25 youths of SOS Children’s Village to be self-independent using its Dulux Painters’ Academy platform. The second part of the agreement will involve working with the trained youths to rejuvenate spaces within the SOS Children’s Village with Colour,” Mrs Elemide said.

It would be recalled that since the Nigerian edition of the global ‘Let’s Colour’ campaign was launched in 2012, the company has continued to impact humanitarian organisations.

While appreciating the company for its continued contributions to the Centre, the National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria, Mr. Eghosa Erhumwunse said “The partnership with CAP Plc has been quite gratifying and rewarding. It is pleasing to know that the youths earlier trained by CAP Plc have been productively engaged to fend for themselves. We are also very grateful for the transformation of the SOS Children’s Village Social Centre, Ejigbo. The walls of the center are now looking lovely and radiant again.”

Let’s Colour’ Campaign is one of the many ways CAP Plc, through its premium brand – Dulux, has elevated the concept of colours around the world. Dulux paint has always provided opportunities and platforms for customers and communities at large to experience the power of colour.

At the event, Staff of CAP Plc and SOS Children’s Village with the 25 SOS Children’s Village graduands trained at the Dulux Painters Academy participated actively in the painting exercise. After the exercise, participants shared their experiences highlighting the fun-filled nature of the activity.
