BCW taps Thomas Bunn as Chief Strategy Officer, North America

Foremost global communications agency, BCW, has announced  Thomas Bunn as its Chief Strategy Officer, North America.

In this role, he will oversee a team of research, strategy and communications planning professionals in the region who work to uncover powerful human insights that become the foundation of powerful, earned-plus campaigns.

Brooke Hovey, Interim President, North America, BCW said :

“At BCW, we exist to move people with power and precision to move our clients forward. In order to move people, we need to understand them deeply. Thomas is incredibly gifted in this area, and we’ve charged him with building out our current North America team and capabilities – through better use of data and technology – to do this at scale for the region.”

Bunn will be responsible for operationalizing and scaling BCW’s strategic planning framework and recruiting and developing research and strategy talent who have diverse skill sets, ranging from quantitative and qualitative research to ethnographic and cultural studies to data analysis and techniques grounded in artificial intelligence, machine learning and neuroscience. He is also applying his experience in DE&I work to address bias in research and the strategic planning process in the marketing/communications industry.

Before taking on this role, Bunn was Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Integrated Solutions Lead. He joined BCW in 2018 from Zeno Group.

“I firmly believe that creative grounded in human truth is only one half of creating powerful, earned-plus work that will make an impact,” said Bunn. “The second part is a comprehensive deployment strategy grounded in analytics and primary research that makes content work smarter and harder for brands and corporations. I’m excited to build out our strategy function for the region.”

Bunn was featured on the 2020 PRovoke Innovator 25 in the Americas, as one of the innovators addressing the industry’s challenges with ingenuity and insight. He actively mentors young professionals starting out in marketing communications.
