Starcom Media loses director
The staff and management of Starcom Media were recently thrown into mourning, following the death of Mr. Bunmi Johnson, an Executive Director of the company.
The seasoned marketing professional popularly known as BJ died last Saturday after a brief illness. He was aged 46.
In a statement issued by the company, BJ was described as a pioneer staff who contributed immensely to the Starcom Media brand and help lift it to its present enviable position in the IMC industry.
“The late Johnson stood out for his passion, personal integrity, hard work and enterprise. BJ was a strategic thinker, a mentor to several up and coming media practitioners. Bunmi also played active roles at the industry level”, the statement said.
Johnson joined Starcom Media Services in 2000 as a Senior Executive (Media)/IT Resource Personnel. He occupied various positions in the company including Manager (Media)/ Data Resource Personnel, Media Director, Executive Director before his death.
Before joining Starcom, BJ worked with Rosabel Leo Burnett. He was a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Ilorin. He also attended Harvard University.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
