SNB workshop comes to South West

The professional training programme for members of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, SNB which is aimed to reposition the broadcast industry through training and mentorship, has entered its third phase as participants converged at the training center in Osogbo, Osun State.
The workshop which is being organised by the professional body saddled with the responsibility of maintaining high ethical standards and improve professionalism is expected to be held in the six geopolitical zones of the country.
The body had announced in a statement signed by the Executive Secretary, BON/Coordinator, SNB, Usman Umar Bello, that the training program which is aimed at improving the professional capabilities and knowledge of broadcasters in the country, will hold in North Central, Abuja, Tuesday on March 14th 2023 at Hawthorn Suites Area 11, Garki Abuja; Kano, Monday, March 27, 2023 at ARTV station; Lagos, March, 21, 2023 at Radio Lagos/Eko FM Hall; South West, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Osogbo and South/South East, Port-Harcourt.
The statement added that the training will feature renowned and astute professionals across the broad spectrum of the broadcast industry who will share their deep knowledge and experiences with participants.
The training which held its pilot phase in Abuja has recorded great success in the other locations like Lagos and Abuja. The next will be in Kano State which is scheduled to be held on Monday, 27th 2023.
Some of the highly respected broadcasters that were in attendance include Commissioner of Information Borno State, Baba Kura Abba Jato, John Ugbe, represented by Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, Dr.John Momoh, CEO of Channels TV represented by Chief Ambrose Okoh, Engr Yomi Bolarinwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Buba, Prof Armstrong Idachaba, former Ag DG of NBC, GMD of Daar Communications, Chief Tony Akiotu, Chief Festus Kehinde, former GM OGTV, former Board Chairmen of different agencies such NTA, News Agency of Nigeria etc. and former DG, NBC, amongst others.
Recall that the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, SNB recently inducted its first batch of members where it harped on continuous training and mentorship as a fundamental mechanism to herald a paradigm shift in the industry.
Speaking during the event which was held in Lagos, the Executive Secretary of the BON and Coordinator of SNB, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, had stated that the event was a historical display of doggedness and determination to reposition the broadcast profession in Nigeria.
