The appointment marks a defining moment for the firm as it deepens its roots in Nigeria under the full ownership of Prudential Plc, with a sharpened focus on customer-centric solutions, digital transformation, and inclusive insurance coverage.

Funmi Omo’s  assumption of this critical role comes at a time when Prudential, having secured full ownership of its Nigerian subsidiary, is poised to deepen its footprint on the African continent.

Describing this new era as one of purpose and possibility, the finance veteran expressed her readiness to drive customer-focused innovation, extend insurance access to under-served communities, and deliver long-term value across stakeholder groups.

Stepping into the new role with enthusiasm and a bold sense of purpose, the newly appointed executive described the transition as timely, given the evolving dynamics of the life insurance landscape.

Backed by a strong leadership team that includes Emmanuel Mokobi Aryee, CEO of Prudential Africa, and Tokunboh Ishmael, CFA, newly appointed Board Chair, the company aims to redefine access and value across the insurance value chain in Africa’s largest economy.

With over three decades of experience, the new CEO brings a rich blend of operational depth, strategic foresight, and people-focused leadership to the role.
