Nestlé Nigeria continues to transform the lives of rural women across the country through its ongoing Nestlé Empowering Rural Women in Nigeria initiative.
Year after year, the company demonstrates its commitment to improving livelihoods, staying true to its vision of creating shared value and building thriving communities.
Each time Nestlé rolls out the programme, no fewer than 150 women benefit, gaining the opportunity to expand their businesses, support their families, and achieve financial independence.
Transforming Livelihoods Across Communities
The initiative empowers female retailers of Nestlé products by providing them with three times their monthly turnover in products. In addition, participants receive business training and mentorship to help them scale operations and increase profitability.

Through this consistent gesture, hundreds of women have grown from small-scale traders into confident business owners, strengthening their families’ financial security.
From Osun to Enugu, Abuja to Niger, Nestlé’s empowerment drive continues to spread hope across all six geo-political zones. The project, already implemented in the South-West, South-East, and North-Central regions, is expanding into the South-South, North-West, and North-East. This nationwide reach reinforces Nestlé’s belief that sustainable growth must include everyone.
A Model That Delivers Measurable Impact
According to Nestlé Nigeria, the results of the programme continue to demonstrate the effectiveness of its empowerment model. The company stated that feedback from beneficiaries in Abuja and Osogbo revealed faster turnover, higher income, and increased business visibility.
Nestlé added that its approach is geared towards combining training, mentorship, and product support, which has consistently delivered tangible results. By improving household incomes, the initiative also helps families access better nutrition, healthcare, and education.
Each phase of the project reaffirms Nestlé’s dedication to supporting women entrepreneurs who play vital roles in rural economies. The company’s consistent engagement shows a deep understanding that when women thrive, communities prosper.
Voices of Gratitude and Transformation
For many of the beneficiaries, Nestlé’s initiative has changed their lives entirely. Mrs. Bashiru Hairat, a beneficiary from the North-Central region, expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“I want to thank Nestlé for doing a lot for my family. I’m so happy I was selected. The support will help me grow my business and increase my income so I can provide a better life for my children. This empowerment has truly changed my story.”
Similarly, Mrs. Clementina Irandi from Enugu shared her excitement and appreciation:
“I am beyond happy and grateful to be one of the 50 women chosen in Enugu. The free goods and training we received will help me expand my business. I sincerely thank Nestlé for everything they have done for me and my family.”
Restoring Hope, Building the Future
Through these empowering gestures, Nestlé Nigeria continues to restore hope and rebuild lives. Widows who once struggled to feed their families now run successful businesses. Mothers who feared their children might drop out of school can now afford tuition and daily needs. Across rural communities, Nestlé’s efforts have rekindled confidence, independence, and pride.
Moreover, the ripple effect of the initiative extends beyond individual households. By helping women sustain their livelihoods, Nestlé strengthens rural economies and promotes inclusive growth. The project continues to show that empowering one woman means empowering an entire community.
With every edition of the Nestlé Empowering Rural Women in Nigeria project, the company reinforces its vision of touching lives and creating opportunities. From Osun to Enugu, from Abuja to Niger, the stories of gratitude and transformation remain the same, these are stories of women who found new strength, renewed hope, and a brighter tomorrow, all made possible by Nestlé’s enduring commitment to empowerment.
