A Proven Model, Now Scaling
When Livespot360 launched Entertainment Week Lagos (EWL) in 2022, the objective was clear: to create a structured platform that connected Africa’s creative talent with opportunity, industry leadership, and global visibility.
In just three years, EWL grew into West Africa’s most important creative convergence, blending Music, Film & TV, Fashion, AI & Tech, Live Production, and Entrepreneurship into a week-long ecosystem of knowledge exchange, mentorship, and commercial engagement.
By 2024, its third edition had:
- Attracted 15,000+ participants from across Africa and the diaspora.
- Hosted 100+ speakers, mentors, and global executives.
- Generated hundreds of millions of naira in economic impact and media value.
- Positioned Lagos as a December cultural hub and creative economy capital.
Introducing Entertainment Week Africa (EWA)
Building on this track record, Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) will debut in Lagos from 18–23 November 2025, scaling the platform from a city-based festival into a continental economy driver.
EWA is more than a cultural event; it is a strategic intervention. Its purpose is to:
- Bridge gaps in capital, infrastructure, and opportunity.
- Facilitate cross-border collaboration across Africa’s fragmented markets.
- Connect African talent to global investment, markets, and policy frameworks.
As Darey Art Alade, Chief Creative Officer of Livespot360, notes:
“From the start, we envisioned a platform that could match the ambition of Africa’s creatives. Entertainment Week Africa is that stage — where policy meets creativity, where talent meets capital, and where Africa sets its own global agenda.”
Theme: Close the Gap
Africa’s creative economy is one of the world’s fastest-growing — projected to generate $20 billion annually by 2030 (UNESCO). Yet, beneath the global visibility of Afrobeats, Nollywood, and African fashion lies an ecosystem constrained by:
- Limited access to structured funding and investment.
- Uneven distribution of infrastructure and skills.
- Fragmented markets that restrict cross-border growth.
EWA’s 2025 theme, Close the Gap, directly addresses these challenges. The program is designed to bridge divides between creativity and capital, local industries and global markets, and talent and opportunity, ensuring Africa’s creative future is sustainable, scalable, and inclusive.
What to Expect at EWA 2025
The six-day platform will combine knowledge exchange, investment facilitation, and cultural showcases. Core components include:
- EWA Content Festival
- EWA Music Festival
- EWA Fashion Festival
- EWA AI & Tech Expo
- EWA Live Production Expo
- Creative Job Fair
- Deal Room
Lagos as Launchpad, Africa as Stage
Although EWA launches from Lagos, its ambition is continental. Through year-round initiatives such as Labspot Creative Skills & Enterprise Development (Labspot CSED), The Circle, and Gen-Z Republik, EWA will extend beyond the six-day event to equip thousands of young Africans and MSMEs with skills, networks, and investment opportunities.
A Call to Stakeholders
By uniting creators, corporates, investors, policymakers, and global partners, EWA will strengthen Africa’s position in the global creative economy while ensuring equitable growth across the continent.
EWA 2025 is a blueprint for Africa’s cultural and economic transformation.
