Former U.S President, Trump plans to launch his own social media platform
Former President of the United States of America, Donald J Trump is looking to launch his own social media platform in the months ahead.
This much was disclosed by Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller: “I do think that we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media, probably in about two or three months here, with his own platform. And this is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media, it’s going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does.”
The former president was banned from social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook following the January 6 mob attack on the U.S Capitol, Washington D.C which left at least five people dead in its wake.
Trump and his supporters tried to shift base to right-wing social media app Parler after his big tech ban. But due to lack of user data privacy and potentially violence-inciting posts, the platform was kicked out of the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, and even the cloud hosting provider Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Since his ban, Trump, once known tweeting hundreds of times in a single day , has resorted to releasing short statements through his office that mimic tweets, especially when they’re shared on the platform by reporters and political consultants.
Miller added that he’s expecting that this new platform will attract “tens of millions of people.”
