FG launches project to connect 774 LGAs to internet

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a project tagged: “Project774 LG Connectivity” to bridge digital divide and provide access to public services across the country.
The project, an initiative of the Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy seeks to connect all the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria to the internet.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, the minister who is the key proponent of the project revealed that, Project 774 LG Connectivity is a critical initiative by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to bridge the digital divide and enable an unfettered access to government services by connecting all the LGAs in Nigeria to the internet.
According to the minister who made this known on his verified X handle Wednesday, “Project 774 is a vital part of the government’s digital transformation strategy, designed to benefit all citizens.
“As we work towards delivering digital transformation for the benefit of all, this project will be an important part of ensuring that even more of our citizens will benefit from a thriving digital economy.”
Tijani further emphasised that the project is expected to have a profound impact on the country’s digital landscape, enabling citizens to access vital government services, promote economic growth, and enhance overall quality of life.
With Project 774 LG Connectivity, he stressed that Nigeria will take a significant step towards becoming a more digitally inclusive and connected society.
