Euromoney names GTB CSR Bank of the year

Guaranty Trust Bank, a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) Plc, has been named the Corporate Social Responsibility Bank of the Year by Euromoney.
The recognition was conferred on the bank at the Euromoney Award for Excellence 2024.
According to a statement on the bank’s website on Friday, the award highlights GTBank’s commitment to excellence, not only through innovative financial services but also by creating value for stakeholders, enriching lives, and constantly seeking new opportunities to drive positive societal change.
The statement also noted that Euromoney praised GTCO’s wide-ranging and impactful CSR initiatives, which include contributions to education, health, community development, and financial inclusion.
“Over the years, Guaranty Trust has led with innovation and service excellence while demonstrating unwavering dedication to making a positive impact and creating shared value through CSR,” the statement read in part.
Reacting to the award, GTCO’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Segun Agbaje, emphasized that the bank’s success is closely linked to the well-being of the society in which it operates.
“Over the years, we have developed free business platforms and sponsored social causes that have benefited millions across Africa,” Agbaje said. “Our commitment to corporate social responsibility is rooted in the belief that businesses must drive sustainable progress and foster inclusive growth.”
The Euromoney Awards, a prestigious recognition in the global banking industry, celebrate financial institutions that demonstrate outstanding leadership and innovation. This year’s CSR Bank of the Year award acknowledges GTBank’s dedication to making a positive societal impact through initiatives spanning education, health, the environment, and economic empowerment.
