CodeGarageAfrica, a leading advocate for technological education and innovation in Africa, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dolapo Ayeni as Chief Brand and Operations Officer.

This noteworthy expansion of the leadership team is a direct consequence of her outstanding achievement in orchestrating the “1000 Lines of Code” initiative. This program is designed to educate and empower 1,000 senior secondary school students across the 11 local government areas of Ibadan.

The 1000 Lines of Code initiative, held from July 15th to 19th, 2024, in collaboration with Oyo State, 386konsult, and Zeeh Africa, engaged 1,000 senior secondary school students from 110 schools across 11 local governments in Ibadan. The event was a resounding success, fostering a new wave of tech-savvy youths ready to lead the future of Africa’s tech industry.

Dolapo Ayeni brings a wealth of experience in brand management and strategic communications to CodeGarageAfrica. Her innovative vision and dedication to empowering African youths through technology align perfectly with the organisation’s mission.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dolapo Ayeni to the CodeGarageAfrica family,” said VF, PhD, MBA, the managing partner of 386konsult Limited, which includes CodeGarageAfrica in its portfolio. “Her expertise in brand development and her passion for educational initiatives make her an invaluable asset as we continue to expand our reach and impact across the continent.”

As Chief Brand and Operations Officer, Dolapo Ayeni will lead brand strategy, partnerships, operations, and communication efforts, ensuring that CodeGarageAfrica’s initiatives resonate with a broad audience and drive significant societal impact. She will continue to serve as Head of Communications and Media at 386konsult Limited, while fully embracing her role as the operational ally in CodeGarageAfrica.

“I am honoured to join CodeGarageAfrica at such a pivotal moment,” said Dolapo Ayeni. The success of the 1000 Lines of Code initiative demonstrates the incredible potential of African youths in technology. I look forward to amplifying our efforts and creating more opportunities for young innovators across the continent. Although we are in active talks with Ondo State to replicate this achievement, we hope to double our impact by liaising with the Lagos State government as well. I am committed to making CodeGarageAfrica a top brand by applying for grants, empowering the girl & boy child, and fostering tech for young ones. I am also using this opportunity to invite corporate and individual brands willing to partner with us to reach out and join in this exciting journey.”

With this new appointment, CodeGarageAfrica is poised to enhance its programs and outreach, fostering a robust ecosystem for tech education and innovation in Africa. The organisation remains committed to its mission of nurturing the next generation of tech leaders and ensuring Africa’s active participation in the global tech arena.
