Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria inducts Hon. Ajayi a Fellow

In a notable recognition of his exceptional contributions to public administration and exemplary leadership, the Executive Chairman of Gbonyin LCDA, Hon. Oluwadamilare Ajayi, has been inducted as a Fellow of the esteemed Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

The impressive investiture ceremony took place on Saturday, November 3, 2023, at the Assembly Hall of The Polytechnic Ibadan, marking a significant milestone in Hon. Ajayi’s career.

The induction ceremony was officiated by the Registrar of the Institute, Dr. Uche Okereke, who underscored the significance of this honor. According to Dr. Okereke, Hon. Damilare Ajayi’s induction as a Fellow of the Institute was a decision made by the Council of the Institute, recognizing his profound expertise in public enterprise management and his outstanding achievements in the realm of public administration in Nigeria.

Dr. Okereke elaborated that Hon. Ajayi’s induction was motivated by his embodiment of exemplary leadership qualities, not only as a seasoned politician but also as a person of unwavering integrity, setting a remarkable standard for others to follow.

During the ceremony, Hon. Ajayi had the privilege of sharing this prestigious moment with his close friend, Hon. Ayodeji Abiodun Olaniyi, the Executive Chairman of Igbara-Odo/Ogotun LCDA, who was also inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration.

With this induction, Hon. Damilare Ajayi now joins the ranks of other distinguished Nigerians who have received this prestigious recognition, including Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, former governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame, former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, former governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida, and Senator Duro Faseyi.

Notably, Hon. Dupe Bakare, Executive Chairman of Irewolede, had previously received the same recognition as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administrators on August 23, 2023, further highlighting the caliber of leaders who have been honored by the Institute.

Hon. Ajayi’s entourage at the ceremony included the Director of Administration of Gbonyin LCDA, Chief Anthony Ajila, and the Director of Finance, Mr. Omolade, underlining the strong support and teamwork that have contributed to his remarkable achievements in public administration.

Beyond his dedicated service in public administration, Hon. Oluwadamilare Ajayi is a multi- talented individual with a thriving business portfolio in the timber and quarry industry.

His political journey has been marked by several notable positions, including Liaison Officer to the Hon. Member of the House of Representatives, South Federal Constituency II; IGR Chairman, Gbonyin Local Government; Political Adviser to the Hon. Chairman, Gbonyin Local Government; Caretaker Chairman, Gbonyin LCDA; and First Executive Chairman of Gbonyin LCDA (January 2022 to date).

Born into the family of late Chief Nathaniel Falomo Ajayi, the Ajana of Ijan Ekiti, over five decades ago, Hon. Oluwadamilare Ajayi, the Executive Chairman’s educational journey began at St. James’s Primary School, Ijan-Ekiti, followed by Doherty Memorial Grammar School, Ijero-Ekiti, where he completed his secondary education with distinction.

He pursued higher education, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History International Relations (Diplomat) from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.

Hon. Ajayi Oluwadamilare is happily married to Mrs. Temitayo Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Lady Chairperson of Gbonyin Local Council Development, Aisegba-Ekiti. Their union is blessed with promising children.
