Apple, the technology giant renowned for its culture of creativity and innovation, has achieved a significant milestone by clinching the Creative Brand of the Year award at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The brand’s outstanding performance across the Lions propelled it to claim this prestigious title, previously held by Burger King for three consecutive years. The announcement came on the final day of the festival, along with the unveiling of Special Awards for the Final Lion-winners.
The order of the Creative Brand of the Year was disclosed, with Apple taking the top spot, followed by Dove and Heineken.
Philip Thomas, Chairman of LIONS, expressed his admiration for the remarkable body of Lion-winning work that emerged from the Jury rooms during the festival.
He emphasized the power of the industry to drive change, build businesses, and shape society, and extended his congratulations to all the participants, finalists, and Lion winners who contributed to the Festival’s 70th edition, setting a new creative benchmark on the global stage.
Apple’s culture of fostering creativity and innovation is evident across its diverse initiatives, projects, and products. The brand has consistently demonstrated its ability to create marketing strategies that resonate with customers and turn them into true brand ambassadors.
However, this is not the first time Apple has been recognized at the Cannes Lions.
In 2019, the company was named the Creative Marketer of the Year, acknowledging its sustained creative excellence.
Over the years, Apple has also produced several award-winning advertisements that have left a lasting impact on the industry. Notable examples include “World gallery,” part of the “Shot on iPhone” campaign, which garnered five gold Lions and a Grand Prix in 2015. The iconic “1984” commercial, which premiered during the Super Bowl, also received a Grand Prix in 1984. Additionally, the “Dance” advertisement from the “Silhouette” campaign for iPod achieved critical acclaim and recognition.
