Twitter holds $4 Billion takeover talks of Clubhouse

Twitter Inc. has  held talks in recent months to acquire Clubhouse, the buzzy audio-based social network, according to people familiar with the matter.

Twitter’s overture came even as it has been developing a similar feature called Spaces. According to Bloomberg, the discussions between the two companies have since ended.

While the app is drastically changing the social media conversation and spurring industry leaders like Facebook, Spotify, Twitter, LinkedIn and Discord to develop or acquire rival platforms, Clubhouse’s valuation could be more fueled by hype if recent install numbers and platform awareness is much to go by.
