Pan-African reality TV show, The Residence Afrika set for 2022 debut, $500000 grand prize

Innovative pan-African reality TV show, The Residence Afrika has announced a whopping $500 000 grand prize even as it gathers momentum for its debut in March, 2022.

Unveiled at a befitting launch party which was well attended by Nigeria’s finest celebrities such as Nollywood actor, Producer, and VC Africa Network Entertainment Ltd, Jim Iyke; Chairman, Africa Network Entertainment Ltd, CEO Kayc; Actor/ Presenter, Uti Nwachukwu; Popular musicians, Jaywon, Djinee; and award-winning actor/model, Melvin Oduah amongst others, The Residence Africa is set to bring the best form of entertainment to viewers across the African Continent while scaling up to be the number one non-scripted Reality TV Show in Africa.

Speaking at the launch, Project Manager, The Residence Africa, Chuks described TRA as a pan-African reality TV show that represents the value system, culture, and beliefs of Africa.

He said: “The platform of The Residence Africa is going to create an enabling environment as it promises to be a show that will integrate the various cultural groups and pan-African systems that prevail on this continent.We are putting together people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences to live and work together. Unity in diversity is the major motivation of the show. Housemates are allowed and encouraged to live their normal lives. All they have to do to win is; Don’t lose money, build loyalty, and build a fan base.”

The show will feature a total of 24 contestants comprising 12 Males and 12 Females selected through an audition process from 12 different countries which include Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria, Ghana, and Ethiopia. With much consideration for Covid 19 protocols, the selection process for the TRA housemates will be done virtually.

Commenting on the launch of the groundbreaking reality TV series, Vice Chairman, Africa Network Entertainment Ltd, Jim Iyke explained that The Residence Afrika is a show created by Africans for Africans living in Africa and the rest of the world looking for quality and entertaining Reality TV content while building bridges of economic inclusion between African nations. According to the Nollywood actor and producer, the show is designed to be entertaining, exciting, engaging, educating, and rewarding.

“Our company is a young one,but we have been pushing so far,” Iyke said. “We have been to so many places to bring this show to fruition. We have been to Kigali, Jo’burg, and Accra to name a few.  This is like a dream come true, our very own brainchild, and i am very happy to be sharing this moment with you all.”

Housed separately in two mansions for a period of 78 days, contestants are required to use their intelligence, communication skills, emotion, and  relationship with other contestants to gain public affection in order ro escape eviction. Each week, there will be a nomination process where the males will nominate at least 3 females for possible eviction, while the females will do same by nominating 3 males for eviction. To stay in the game, the contestants must build loyalty amongst their fellow contestants to avoid nominations. While the contestants have the power to nominate fellow contestants for possible evictions, the ultimate power of who gets sent home lies in the hands of the voting public.

However, according to the organizers, the prize money will be reduced with every challenge the contestants fail to win; this way the contestants understand that they need to be active and win all challenges beyond reasonable doubts to win their complete prize money.

Other fantastic prizes to be won include a brand new SUV, brand new apartment, an all expense paid trip, MBA offer on business management, global collaboration, international media tour, and a one-year mentorship program. Viewers will have the luxury of having 24 hours daily access to follow The Residence Afrika Reality TV Show using the Mobile App, Website, and Social Media platforms.
