BOYE ADEFILA – MARKET COACH
Mr. Boye Adefila is the CEO of Downtoearth Marketing Services, a training firm with a solid bias for marketing and marketing-related subjects.
Before founding his own company, he had held various senior management positions in the corporate world, having begun his marketing career as a copywriter in the advertising sector (1989), after working at the Imo State Broadcasting ServiceOwerri (1987-88). He had a brief stint in client services before moving into strategic planning as a freelancer in 2009. While in advertising, he was HOD-creative at Insight Grey (now InsightPublicis) and creative director at TBWA/Concept.
As a deeply experienced and vastly exposed professional, Boye garnered experience on the clients’ side of the advertising divide. He worked in the telecommunications sector as a brand manager (Glo Mobile/2004-2005), and served as marketing director of Triangle Care, an Abuja based medical services firm when re relocated to the FCT in 2010. During this period, he doubled as managing director of Zeenod Business Solutions (a digital marketing firm).
On his return to Lagos in 2013, he forayed into the hospitality world as group managing director of the Hotel 1960 group. He was also managing director at Marketing Mix, the public relations & experiential marketing firm that managed the MTN Nigeria brand for more than a decade.
His training outfit is noted for its flagship programme, the #IdeaGenerationWorkshop, which, according to him, aims to democratise innovation in every workspace from the private to public sector.
Widely known and much respected for his daily posts tagged #MarketingSimplified, Boye Adefila is a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Customer Service & Trade Management. He is also a member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN, a life member of the Imo State Writers’ Clinic, a former member of Association of Nigerian Authors (Lagos Chapter), an alumnus of the Federal Government College Lagos (Ijanikin-82/83 set) and an alumnus of the University of Ife, Ile-Ife (Now OAU). He is at the same time a life volunteer of the Cerebral Palsy Center (CpCenter).
