BHM, Quadrant MSL, others shine at LaPRIGA Awards

Black House Media (BHM), Quadrant MSL and five other Public Relations agencies put up an outstanding performance at the 2018 Lagos PR Industry Gala & Awards; otherwise known as LaPRIGA Awards.

The event which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria lsland, Lagos themed “The Harrick”, saw other agencies such as Brooks & Blake Nigeria Limited, C&F Porter Novelli, Africa Practice, Business Education Examination Council (BEEC) and XLR8 coming tops in their respective award categories.

The Managing Director, Chain Reactions, Israel Jaiye Opeyemi, emerged as the PR practitioner of the year; while Nn’emeka Maduegbuna, Chairman, C&F Porter Novelli, bagged the Lifetime Achievement Award, amongst other awardees.

BHM emerged as the Best PR agency using the New Media, while Quadrant MSL, Africa Practice and Brooks & Blake won the Best PR agency to work for category.

Meanwhile, BEEC and XLR8 came top as Best PR Training and Consultancy and Best PR Consultancy respectively.

The Managing Consultant, Quadrant MSL, Mrs. Uche Ajene, said that the agency was well pleased with the award. She stressed that the award was a testimonial to the fact that Quadrant has created a friendly and conducive environment for people to work in.

In her words: “Thank you for giving us this award. We do create an enabling environment that encourages people to work in at all times and we are really grateful for this recognition.”

Speaking in the same vein, the Managing Director, Chain Reactions, Mr. Israel Jaiye Opeyemi, said the recognition has spurred him to do more for the industry.

He said: “I have taken this award as a higher calling to do more for the Public Relations profession in Nigeria and to help put the profession on the continental as well as the global map. So, for me, it is not just a time for self glorification but a call to do more work for the promotion of this profession in Nigeria and that is what I am dedicating myself unto from tonight. I thank the NIPR Lagos State chapter for giving me this recognition amongst thousands of Public Relations practitioners in Nigeria as the very best for the year; it is not something to be taken for granted. It is a big honour for me; but beyond the honour is the fact that I see this as an invitation for me to do more and I commit myself to that.”
