AB InBev launches spicy Bud Light Chelada

Budweiser’s Parent Company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, has infused its Bud Light Chelada brand with hot sauce to release a new spicy variant in the US.

First launched in 2008, the Bud Light Chelada combines the beer with a Clamato tomato cocktail which is available in original, mango and extra lime variants. Bud Light Chelada Fuego was created in partnership with Mexican-American hot sauce brand Tapatio, offering the same 4.2% ABV.

Desiree Sanchis, senior brand manager, Bud Light, said: “Bud Light Chelada already has such a bold flavour loved by many, but we wanted to spice things up a bit and partner with Tapatio to give consumers the first-ever hot sauce infused Chelada.

“We are always pushing to innovate and provide consumers what they didn’t know they needed but always wanted.”

Tapatio vice president, Luis Saavedra, stated: “Our team likes to have fun, and that’s what Bud Light is all about too. We are so excited to have Tapatio highlighted as the kick to the new Bud Light Chelada Fuego.”

The company has a portfolio of over 400 brands including Budweiser, Corona, Castle, Castle Lite, Bud Light, and more. Bud Light Chelada Fuego is available to buy in stores nationwide.
